Captioning: Why do I need to do it, and how do I get started?

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

We all know that creating accessible online content is a good thing to do, but do you also know that it's required by law? Creating an inclusive environment for all members of our community - allowing everyone to take part in all aspects of our online environments - is our responsibility. Captioning is one step in that direction. This session will give a high level overview of why this needs to be done, why auto-captioning products such as YouTube just don't cut it, and what solutions are ready for you to use. The importance of the IT professional in this effort will also be discussed, combined with ideas for bringing others along on the journey.
