The Mid-Atlantic Research Infrastructure Alliance, Inc. (MARIA) is a non-profit corporation created in 2012 by seven universities in Virginia to collaborate for access to high performance networks and other cyberinfrastructure. Under contract to MARIA, Virginia Tech operates the Mid-Atlantic Research and Education Exchanges (MREX) near Washington DC and Atlanta. The MREX hubs provide exchange points and on-ramps for high capacity and low cost access to Internet2, full transit (commodity) internet providers, and content services. MREX is open to the entire research and education community in Virginia. We will provide information about MARIA, the MREX hubs, available services, and participation opportunities.
